Setting up external accounts for transfers overview

You can add accounts at other financial institutions and transfer funds externally. This function depends on your settings and may not be available.

Note: You can only transfer funds to and from domestic (United States and US territories) financial institutions that use ABA routing numbers.

When you connect the account, we make two small deposits of random amounts into your account at the other institution. When the deposits are complete, you enter and verify the amounts in either our online banking or the mobile banking app. The deposits verify that any future funds transfers go to or come from the appropriate external account. The deposits should take less than 5 business days to process.

Adding and verifying external accounts may not be available, depending on the configuration.
