About Zones

Zones accommodate financial institutions (FIs) that use multiple transaction processing or vendor configuration sets. Previously, Q2 and our clients had to maintain separate databases to record information such as software upgrades and configuration changes. Zones provide FIs with a streamlined experience to serve multiple ABA routing numbers or core processing needs.

How do Zones work?

Once a new Zone is defined, records are inserted into Zone-specific configuration tables within the database, which override the values in the standard tables.

Each digital banking Group is assigned to a Zone. This ensures that when end users within those Groups log in (or their transactions are processed), configuration values for their assigned Zone are used.

Zones and Q2 Console

If your FI is enabled for Zones, a dropdown list displays in the header of Q2 Console where CSRs can switch between Zones they have access to.

Note: If a CSR has access to only one Zone, the dropdown list is replaced with the name of the Zone.

Switching between Zones

You can change the Zone you're working in. This option is only available for FIs with Zones enabled.
