Building a recommended campaign

You can build a campaign based on a suggestion made by the SMART recommendation engine.

To build a recommended campaign

  1. On the Campaigns page, select Build campaign (Build campaign button - a green, circular button with a plus sign in the middle.) to open the Campaign Builder.
  2. Select a campaign from the Recommended campaigns list. Enter a Campaign name and then select Build this campaign.
  3. Select a campaign audience by completing the following:
    1. Using the Target people who match list, select either any traits below or all traits below.
    2. Review the recommended audience that the system generates. Based on this information, you can make decisions about which users you want to include or exclude from the campaign. You can use only the recommended audience, remove the audience and add your own, or augment the recommended audience by adding traits and custom audiences.
    3. To add another trait, select Add a trait to your audience, select a trait from the lists provided, and select Add.
    4. To exclude users from the campaign audience, scroll down the page and select Exclude people > Add an exclusion to your audience. Then, select an exclusion or custom audience from the lists provided.

  4. After you set the audience, select Next: Select creatives.
  5. Select creative types for each audience:
    1. Select the ad placement area for the creative you want to include in the campaign. Choices include Top, Side (med), Side (small), or Side (mobile). You can define any or all ad placements for each trait or audience.
  6. After you select ads, select Next: Add / upload creatives
  7. Upload creatives for each creative type:
    1. On the Upload creatives page of the Campaign Builder, choose an ad placement, and then select Click to add image
    2. Choose an ad from the library, or select Upload a new ad to import your own.
    3. After selecting an ad, select Use ad.
    4. In the Alt Text field, describe the image or call to action for the visually impaired.
    5. Repeat the ad selection process as needed for each placement type.

  9. After you select ads for your campaign, select Next: Details.
  10. Enter the campaign details.
  11. Select Next: Review campaign.
  12. Review the details of your campaign, and then select Launch. Alternatively, select Save as draft to save the campaign and return to it later.
